Worship at ECM

At the very center of what we do at ECM is worship.  We believe God created us to be in love with God and with one another, and one of the primary ways we express that love is through prayer, music, and fellowship during worship each week.

     Q. When do you worship?
     A. ECM has dinner and worships together each Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, located on the corner of Country Club Rd. and the Bypass.
(map) It's always very low key, so feel free come as you are. If you're looking for Sunday worship, visit Trinity at 8:30 a.m. for a traditional spoken service or at 10:30 a.m. for a service with music.

     Q. How do you worship?
     A. Our primary form of worship is called "Eucharist" (pronounced YOO-ka-rist) which means "thanksgiving" in Greek.  It is also known in other traditions as the Lord's Supper, Holy Communion, or Mass.  Each time we gather, we read and reflect on the Scriptures, say prayers, sing songs, and share in the bread and wine that symbolize to us Christ's love and sacrifice for us.  This is just about the most ancient way of Christian worship, so when we share in the Eucharist together, we are joining our hearts and voices with Christians not only throughout the world, but also throughout history.  You can find out more about our worship on our episco-what? page.

     Q. What should I know before I come?
     A. If all of that sounds complicated, don't worry ... it's all laid out in our service book, which makes participating very easy, even for newcomers.  Episcopalians have a saying: "All may; some should; none must."  Know that when you come to worship with us, you are free to participate as much or as little as you feel led.  Some jump right in, participating in our discussions, singing loudly and off key, and joining in the prayers.  Other hold back a little until they have a better handle on what's going on.  Either way is fine; just know that you have a place at our table.
