Bishop's Greeting
A Word from our Bishop,
The Rt. Rev. Henry I. Louttit, Jr.
I am
delighted that you’ve chosen the Episcopal Campus Ministry
to be a part of your college experience. Whether you’re a
“cradle Episcopalian” (you know who you are), new to the
Episcopal Church, or just a seeker, welcome! |
 |
No matter what religious tradition you may have come from, if
any, you’ll find community and fellowship here. As the
website says, the Episcopal Center at GSU is a great
place to worship, play, laugh, and eat. And the chaplain and
students here know how to do all of those things!
There are many opportunities for you at the Episcopal Center to help you find
God and be found by God during your time at college. So
please join us.
With all blessings for a good year,
Henry I. Louttit
Bishop of Georgia
"What's a bishop?"
Good question. Bishops are the overseers of the Church. They
ordain new priests and deacons; they help to govern the
larger Church; and they serve to remind us
that we are all knit together in One Body. Our own bishop, Henry Louttit, lives in
Savannah, but he oversees about 70 churches spread across
south Georgia. Bishops spend a lot of time traveling and
visiting with their congregations. Bishop Louttit will visit
us this September. |
